Biography

Brian Astrachan has built his career in Healthcare and Insurance Technology as the cofounder of Rekinetics (acq. 2021) and on the founding team at HealthJoy. Coming from a long line of doctors, Brian always felt the push to help people but not the pull into medicine. Through technology, Brian has been able to leverage his skills and experience across product management, operations, sales, and strategy to help millions of people across the United States.

As of April 2024, Brian is the General Manager of MSK at HealthJoy where he oversees all aspects of their virtual programs for back, joint, and pelvic health. Brian has been working for more than a decade to leverage the brain to address pain, driven by the passion to help people avoid injury from a young age - and to stay healthy long-term - due to his experience with tennis-related injuries starting at age 10. This has culminated both in his work at HealthJoy and in his latest book, “Chronic Lower Back Pain Relief Through the Brain-Body Sync: Exercises to Upgrade Your Body’s Software and Reduce Pain in Less Than 15 Minutes a Day.”

Brian attended Williams College where he was a starting member of the NCAA championship tennis team, co-president of the a cappella group The Williams Octet, and graduated summa cum laude as a top ten student in his class. He and his family live in southern Connecticut.

Latest Book

“Chronic Lower Back Pain Relief Through the Brain-Body Sync” is the culmination of over 10 years of research, study, and work with the chronic pain population. Applying learnings from thousands of chronic pain sufferers who have seen relief using these unique brain-based exercises, this book elevates the brain as the missing piece of the puzzle for how we understand and address pain. The book is half explanation and science, half exercise protocol, and aims to bring the brain into every day conversation about the body.

The book is only the tip of the iceberg of the full brain-based programming as delivered by HealthJoy. If you are interested in offering these programs that address the entire body (back, neck, hip, pelvic floor, ankle, etc.) to your employees, contact Brian below or contact sales@healthjoy.com.
